Finally Say You Like Them with These 5 Korean Confession Songs

Updated: Feb 5, 2020

Stressing over how to tell someone your feelings?

In South Korea, it’s tradition to confess to your crush on the day of the first snowfall. This comes from the Korean belief that if you’re with the person you love when it first snows, you’ll be together for a lifetime.

Yes, I am suggesting that you tell your crush you like them when you first see snow this season.

But more specifically, I'm telling you how.

I’ve put together a small list of Korean confession songs. Sounds like a cheesy way to go about things, I know....but your crush won’t see it coming and will remember it forever!

1. If you have nothing to lose…

Day 1 by K.Will

These lyrics are brave, just to put your feelings out there whether the response is good or bad. And if it’s good, then it’s day one!

"Day one” in Korean is "ilil" and is used to describe the day you become a couple.

2. If you’re eagerly trying to get the message across...

Mariya by HALO

“Listen, I like you!” This is a fun, upbeat song about realizing that, yes… I AM telling you I like you, more than a friend!

The title, "mariya”, on its own can be loosely translated to “what I’m trying to say”.

3. If you’ve liked him/her for a really long time…

Love Letter by VIXX

This ballad is a bit more serious, to finally confess how much they actually mean to you. The heart can’t keep pretending!

If you haven’t picked it out yet, “saranghae” is how to say “I love you” in Korean.

4. If you know they feel the same…

Cherish by Sunyoul & Yuju

Excited butterflies, shy smiles, distracted thoughts. This song captures all those initial feelings when you’re liking someone for the first time.

Sunyoul is a member of a boy group called UP10TION and Yuju is in a girl group called GFRIEND, collaborating together for this cute duet.

5. If you’re just not sure how to say it…

Falling In Love by UNIQ

Last but not least, a cute and innocent song about building up the courage to tell someone you like them.

Listen here on Spotify, or click below to see the lyrics on YouTube.

Which of these songs do you connect with the most?

Remember, when you see snow for the first time, it’s a sign to tell your crush that you like them. Just do it. Don't worry about the outcome. Plus, if you mention the Korean tradition, they'll be impressed regardless.

As they say in Korea to cheer people on... fighting!!
